In A  pril of 1  775
th  is great nation started coming t  o life.
Old King George didn t l  ike it one bit
so h  e proceeded to throw h  im a royal fit.

H  e told his generals : Better      get  em back in line!
Mak  e   em pay my taxes now America i  s mine!
Stop that independence talk b  efore it gets around
or it s g  onna be hard to h  old them reb  els down!

Well the K  ing was talking  bout t  he men like Paul Revere
and the M  inutemen who held their dream of independ  ence dear.
They kept their eyes on the British t  hey watched them day and night
th  ey knew very soon they d get their c  hance to stand and fight.
Yes they knew that the British would b  e moving any hour
so t  hey arranged a signal in the Northend c  hurch tower.
Paul was watching when the t  ower showed a light
and he s  tarted on his m  idnight   ride.

He j  umped on his hors  e    hooves started a humming
he scr  eamed out his warn  ing:    Redcoats are comin!
Better get your guns and y  our fighting breeches on
they re c  omin  and they re eight hund  red strong.

Next m  orning at Concord a  nd    Lexington town
the sp  irit of freedom turned the  Redcoats a  round.
When we praise the men who made that m  ighty nation we have here
then l  et s remember P  aul Re  vere    yes   let s remember Paul R  evere.
I   guarantee you somethin  and I wanna tell you all
that we never would been here if it hadn t been for Paul.
Yes Sir I surely doubt us ever bein here
if it hadn t been for that man on that horse named mr revere
