When I   was a little   bitty boy
J  ust up off the f  loor
We u  sed to go down to G  randma's house
E  very month e  nd or s  o
We'd have c  hicken pie c  ountry ham
H  ome-made butter on the b  read
But the b  est darn thing about G  randma'a house
Was the gre  at big fea  ther be  d

It was n  ine feet high and   six feet wide
S  oft as a downy c  hick
It was m  ade of the feathers of forty-l  even' geese
Took a   whole bolt of cloth for the t  ick

It could h  old eight kids and fo  ur hound dogs
And a pig  gy we stole from the sh  ed
We didn'  t get much sleep but w  e had alot of fun
In Gra  ndma's fea  ther be  d

After supper we'd sit around the fire
The old folks spit and chew
Pa would talk about the farm in the war
And Grandma'd sing a ballad or two
I'd sit and listen and watch the fire
Till the cobwebs filled my head
Next thing I'd know I'd wake up in the morn'
In the middle of the old feather bed

(Refrain)

Well I love my ma I love my pa
I love Granny and Grandpa too
I been fishing with my uncle I wrestled with my cousin
And I even kissed Aunt Lou Ooh!
But if I ever had to make a choice
I think it oughta be said
That I'd trade them all plus the gal down the road
For Grandma's feather bed

(Refrain, 2x)
