Intro : Em   D2/F#   Em   D2/F#

On the  Em first part of the j D2/F#  ourney
I was  Em looking at all the  D2/F#  life.
There were  Em plants and birds and r D2/F#  ocks and things,
there was  Em sand and hills and r D2/F#  ings.
The  Em first thing I met was a  D2/F#  fly with a buzz
and the Em  sky, with no c D2/F#  louds.
The  Em heat was hot and the g D2/F#  round was dry
but the Em  air was full of s D2/F#  ound.
I've Emaj9  been through the desert on a Dmaj9  horse with no name.
It felt Emaj9  good to get out of the Dmaj9  rain.
In the Emaj9  desert, you can r Dmaj9  emember your name
because there Emaj9  aint no one for t Dmaj9  o give you no pain.

After Em  two days in the  D2/F#  desert sun
my  Em skin began to turn  D2/F# red.
After  Em three days in the  D2/F#  desert fun
I was  Em looking at a river  D2/F#  bed.
And the Em  story it told of a  D2/F# river that flowed
made me  Em sad to think it was  D2/F#  dead.
You  Emaj9 see I've been through the des Dmaj9  ert on a horse with no name.
It felt Emaj9  good to get out of the Dmaj9  rain.
In the Emaj9  desert, you can r Dmaj9  emember your name
because there Emaj9  aint no one for t Dmaj9  o give you no pain.

After Em  nine days I let the  D2/F#  horse run free
because the Em  desert had turned to  D2/F#  sea.
There were p Em lants and birds and r D2/F#  ocks and things
there was  Em sand and hills and r D2/F#  ings.
The Em  ocean is a desert with it's  D2/F#  life underground
and a  Em perfect disguise a D2/F#  bove.
Under the Em  cities    lies a h D2/F#  eart made of ground
but the Em  humans will give no  D2/F#  love.
You  Emaj9 see I've been through the des Dmaj9  ert on a horse with no name.
