I'm   going to   tell a   sto_-ry  a   funny one you   see_
A  bout a Hazel   Hil_-ler  a   married man is   he_
His   house is   on the   high_-way  and   if the road comes   through_
He'll   have to   tear his   mansion down and   build_ it up a  _new_  _ _

He's   moved to   many   pla_-ces  some  times_ to Hazel   Hill_
And   sometimes into   Can_-so  it   seems he can't keep   still_
But   now I   think he's   settled down with his   dear_ loving   wife_
He   bought   himself a   gramaphone and   lives_ a happy _ life_ _ _|       _      _ _|

One   day he   said to   Dory Plug  "I've   got to earn my   bread_
I'm   going straight to   Le_-na's  I've   got to use my   head"_
From   her he   bought a   bicycle  what he   paid her we don't   know_
He   tied a   box be  hind him  to   Canso he did   _go_   _ _

From   door to   door he   tra_-velled_ "  15 cents for   one"_
He   couldn't make it   pros_-per  it   wasn't any   fun_
His   fish busi  ness is   en_-ded  he   couldn't make_ it   pay_
So   then he   said to   Dory Plug  "I'll   try another _ way"  _ _|       _      _ _|

But   Dory   got a little   bored_ while   hubby was a  way_
There   wasn't a_-ny  thing to do_ to   pass the time a  way_
There   was one   thing she   wan_-ted_ she   said to hubby_ "  Dear_
The   time would   pass more   quickly if I   had_ a rocking   _chair _ _ "_

Well   Strings said   to his   darling  "Your   wish is my com  mand_
To   show how much I   love you I'll   make you one by   hand"_
As   Strings was   such a   handy man by   night the job was   done_
He   took that   thing ups  tairs and said  "Now   try this out for _ fun"_ _ _|       _      _ _|

She   sat down   on the   roc_-ker_ while   Strings went down be  low_
To   fetch a cup of   cof_-fee to   help the evening   go_
While Dory   Plug a  bove him was   rocking back and   forth_
And singing   to her Stringy-  boy for   all_ that she was   _worth _ _ _

But   Dory   got ex  ci_-ted and   rocked a bit too   fast_
And   as her heels swung   high_-er the   chair gave way at   last_
The   floor gave   way be  neath her_ both   chair and Dory   Plug_
Fell   right in  to the   coffee pot and   broke their only _ mug_  _ _|       _      _ _|

So   now my   story's   ended_ it   may get me in   jail_
But   there are many_   people_ who'd   surely go my   bail_
So_   if they   come to   get me to   throw me in the   jug_

I'll   never for  get that   cardboard house of   Strings and Dory _ Plug_ _ _|
