If we are adding the ninth to a chord, the chord will be named (add9). If the ninth takes place of the third, the chord will rather be named (add2).
Normally, a ninth chord includes notes 1st, 3rd, 5ft ,7th ,9th. Maj9 chord includes a major 7th: 1st, 3rd, 5th, maj7th, 9th.
Eleventh (same notes as the fourth).
Theoretically, a eleventh chord should includes those notes: 1st, 3th, 5th, ♭7th, 9th and 11th.
But the 5th and the 9th or the 3rd and the 5th are usually not played on the guitar.
Thirteenth (same note as the sixth).
"Thirteenth" chord should includes those notes: 1st, 3rd, 5th, ♭7th, 9th and the 11th.
It is impossible to play seven notes with six strings, we may leave the 5th and the 9th or the 9th and the 11th.
